Lexington teen drowns in Gulf of Mexico
LEXINGTON, Tenn. — A West Tennessee teen has died while swimming at Panama City Beach.
Panama City Beach police say 15-year-old Tyler Spann of Lexington drowned around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Gulf of Mexico. Witnesses said they noticed the swimmer in distress.
Panama City Beach and Surf found Spann unresponsive in the water.
Spann was a rising sophomore at Lexington High School where he played football and basketball, according to his football coach.
