Union University Bulldog Madness
JACKSON Tenn. — The 2025 edition of Bulldog Madness gets Union University fans, faculty, staff, and students to the Fred Delay Gymnasium, which is a part of Union’s Homecoming Week activities to kickoff to the season that begins Saturday with exhibition games for both men and women.
“The spirit of Homecoming has gotten better each year. It’s more excitement amongst our student body and more excitement about the alumni coming back especially on a night like tonight….Bulldog Madness,” said Dan Griffin, Vice President of Union University.
We caught up with students on campus that tell us about their homecoming experience.
“It’s all about hype. Our job is to get them as hype as possible. Thadd is our lovely introduction into the basketball games and then it’s all about school spirit. They can expect some fun games and just bringing all the student body organizations together,” Caroline Lukasick, senior student Union University.
The basketball teams will not only play a scrimmage game during the madness event but will be introduced to the fans. Selected players will compete in various contests along with participating students, faculty, and staff. The union women’s team will play an exhibition game Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. versus UT Southern. The men’s team will also play an exhibition Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. versus Tennessee Southern.
“Tonight’s a get-to-know-you from the basketball perspective. There will be a dunk contest and three point shooting contest. The energy is in the room and a lot of students will pack it out in there. Some alumni will come back and get to see this as well. It’s just a lot of energy getting to see our student body and getting to see what unions all about. It’s just the spirit that lives inside of our community,” said Dan Griffin, Vice President of Union University.
