Jackson Exchange Club presents Firefighter of the Year award to Dalton Crozier
JACKSON, Tenn. — Firefighter and paramedic Dalton Crozier was honored with the Firefighter of the Year award presented by the Jackson Exchange Club.
Each year the club recognizes a firefighter who rises above standards and goes beyond to serve citizens.
Fire Chief Don Friddle describes that Crozier is a wonderful employee and a valuable asset to the City of Jackson.
“He stands above everybody and is well deserving of this award,” said Friddle.
Crozier began his career in Florida at Lake Technical College in Tavares and received a degree in fire I and II.
He also went through EMT school and started with the Jackson Fire Department in 2021.
Crozier says he was shocked to have earned the award, but he is grateful for this honor.
“It’s a great honor. Honestly like I said in the speech there are so many others that are more deserving, but today was my day and I appreciate it,” said Crozier.
Crozier says that being a firefighter is rewarding because he gets to be involved with helping citizens on their worst days and is proud to serve the City of Jackson.
City of Jackson Mayor Scott Conger also declared that October 21, 2025 is “Dalton Crozier Day” in the city.
