Nice Finish to the Work Week, Rain Showers Back this Weekend!

WBBJ 7 Forecast Update

WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:

It was another chilly morning as many areas fell into the upper 30s to kick off our Wednesday. There were some reports of frost being seen in our northern counties. There were no reports of frost in Jackson so we are still officially waiting on our first frost of the season for the books at the airport. Highs reached the 70s today and we should be a little warmer on Thursday with highs reaching the mid 70s before another weak front will pass Friday morning. That front looks like a dry front but a low pressure system is also on the way and will be bringing back the rain with it late in the weekend. Catch the latest and full forecast details coming up right here.

Friday will be a few degrees cooler than Thursday behind the weak front. We should still see mostly sunny skies but there will be a few clouds lingering around due to the stalled out front that will move to the east late in the day on Friday. Friday football weather looks terrific again but it will be a little cooler than last Friday due to the dry air mass sticking around. Rain is NOT expected Friday night but will look to return by Saturday night. Friday night lows will fall down to around 50°.

THE WEEKEND:

Southeast winds are forecast to return this weekend as a low pressure system will approach from the southwest increasing the humidity a bit as the weekend goes on. Shower are also expected to return some time late in the day on Saturday or more likely Saturday night into the day on Sunday. If you have weekend plans and want to beat the rain, wrap up what you need to get done before the sunsets on Saturday. Highs on Saturday will hit the mid 70s but highs on Sunday will only reach the mid to upper 60s under the clouds and rain showers. Saturday night lows will fall to the low to mid 50s and Sunday night lows will fall to the mid to upper 50s. There could be some weak storms mixing in during the day on Sunday but severe weather or strong storms do not appear to be likely with this next storm system. We will be watching things closely though in the 7 Storm Team Weather Center as the week progresses. Saturday will be partly cloudy but Sunday will be a mostly cloudy day. Some rain could linger into Monday morning but should be gone by the middle of the day on Monday.

NEXT WEEK:

After a few morning showers drier weather should return for a bit on Monday afternoon into the day on Tuesday. Highs on Monday will hit around 70° and the clouds will try to break up some as the day goes on. Monday night lows will fall down to the mid 50s to kick off our Tuesday and the winds on Monday will come out of the east. There is another system on the way early next week but the timing and strength of that system is unknown at this time. As it passes through, the winds will change from the east to the northwest and some cold rain showers will develop around the low pressure system and front as it passes by. It does not appear to be the type of system to bring severe storms with it as of now. Behind the system high temperatures will fall back into the 60s with lows back into the 40s. As of now, there are no imminent signs of a frost coming behind it. A quick look into Halloween shows dry weather as of now with a high around 60° but we are a ways out to confirm that forecast just yet.
