Beginning of November to mark Diabetes Awareness Month

November is Diabetes Awareness Month.

With 15.8% of U.S. adults living with diabetes, and millions more struggling with pre-diabetes or obesity, many feel stuck in fragmented, symptom-focused care.

Dr. Cheri Ogwo offers a holistic, whole-person approach addressing mind, body, and soul to help patients truly thrive.

“I tell every patient is number 1: ditch the sneaky sugars. You know, think about the sodas, think about the sweet teas, think about the sauces even that we put in our food, the flavored yogurts. All of that would increase your sugar without giving much nutritional value, outside of the sugar,” said Ogwo.

For most, November will be a time dedicated to raising awareness about diabetes, supporting those affected by it, and promoting efforts to prevent, treat, and manage the disease.
