Mt. Zion celebrates its 115th year in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn.—A long standing church celebrates a milestone here in the Hub City.

Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in downtown Jackson invites the community for a time of fellowship. It’s Mt. Zion’s 115th year church anniversary. Many are traveling back to reunite with their church family and celebrate this joyous occasion. You can find Mt. Zion downtown located at 201 West Chester Street.

“We have our annual church anniversary but this one is special its 115 years at the anchor of downtown Jackson, we not just in downtown Jackson we are at the anchor of downtown Jackson and not many churches have lasted that long. So for 115 years coming from a tent to this edifice is only been by God’s grace,” said Ida Williams, Media Coordinator, Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Pastors Ricky Reed, Steve Trailer, Marcus Perkins, and Rev. Lee Wilkins gave messages throughout the anniversary occasion.
