Community Champion: Brenda Sanders
It’s time to recognize a Community Champion, an honor given to people making a positive impact in the community in partnership with Leaders Credit Union. We introduce you to a woman who is helping those in need for free.

Brenda Sanders operates a giveaway house called God’s Way Charity Hall in the town of Selmer. At God’s Way Charity Hall, Brenda accepts donations and gives them away to those in need at no cost.
“This storage building here is full of things right now. The back of this building is full,” said Brenda.
Families in need of some extra help can find items like clothing, shoes, dishes, furniture, toys and so much more.

“They can just bring it, put it in my little donation box, my phone number’s on the door. If they wanna call, let me know it’s here,” said Brenda.
“Every community needs a place like this because now there’s people having to make a choice between ‘Do I eat? or do I buy clothes and do I feed my kids?'” said Georgia McIntyre, cousin and close friend of Brenda.
Brenda Sanders has been operating God’s Way Charity Hall for 14 years. When it comes to repairs, she uses her own money for the upkeep.

“Her servant’s heart reflects God’s love and action, touching countless lives and offering hope and dignity to all who walk through her doors,” proclaimed Selmer Mayor Sherry Inman.
“We gotta help each other. We gotta spread the word, what God’s doing, because that’s where we’re failing at. It’s no telling what the Lord can do for you,” said Brenda.
Those who know Brenda say she has a heart of gold and helps in any way she can.
“Brenda’s, the type of person you will hope that your children grow up to be. Brenda’s very loving. She’s very tender. Very caring,” said McIntyre. “She’s someone that deserves this–this kind of an honor.”
