Trenton’s 200th Bicentennial

TRENTON, Tenn. —The City of Trenton is celebrating a significant milestone.

Community members head to the square downtown for Trenton’s 200th Bicentennial celebration. Residents and visitors enjoy historic cemetery tours and teapot tours this weekend.

Entertainment was provided by the company band and the Jackson Hubtet. Many food vendors, craft vendors, free games and bouncers were on site for this annual occasion.

“The teapots are one of the things we are proudest of in Trenton. They were a gift from Dr. Frederick Freed, who lived here with his family, and graduated from Peabody High School. The collection is vast, over 500 teapots, and they’re worth quite a bit of money too,” said Nancy Hall, Director of Fred Cooke History Museum in Trenton.

Trenton’s Bicentennial recognizes the communities unique heritage and offers the opportunity to connect with neighbors to learn about the city’s history.
