Diabetes Awareness Month: Over 37 million Americans affected

November is Diabetes Awareness Month—a time to spotlight a condition affecting over 37 million Americans and contributing to serious complications for millions more.

SugarPros, a telemedicine practice led by endocrinologists and CMO Dr. Cheri Ogwo, is changing the way diabetes and weight care are delivered by combining whole-person care with tech-enabled support.

Dr. Ogwo covers monitoring blood sugar effectively at home, simple nutrition to stabilize glucose, the importance of sleep, stress management, and exercise.

“[The] First and primary change we have to make, cut back on fast foods, cut back on high carb foods, cut back on foods that are highly processed,” said Dr. Ogowo.

You can get involved with Diabetes Awareness Month by attending public health events and screenings, educational campaigns and media coverage, support groups and patient education programs, and fundraisers for diabetes research and care.
