DSCC’s Boots and Bow Ties Event Brings the Community Together to Support Student Success
Dyersburg, Tennessee—Dyersburg State Community College held its second annual Boots and Bow Ties fundraiser on Saturday, October 25, at the E.H. Lannom, Jr. Gymnasium. The evening was unforgettable, featuring community involvement, memorable moments, and fundraising efforts to provide student scholarships.
Over 100 attendees enjoyed a BBQ dinner and an energetic performance by the 24Seven Band. Attendees also participated in live and silent auctions, line dancing, and various games. The atmosphere made the event truly special.
Each year, DSCC presents the Outstanding Alumni Award to individuals who have excelled in their careers, given back to the community, and served as positive role models. Ms. Pam Mabry, Alumni Association President, honored Ms. Constance Clay as the Fall 2025 Outstanding Alumna. Ms. Clay began her career at Rough Country in 2003 before returning to DSCC in 2008 as Executive Aide of Marketing and Public Information. She earned her AAS in Business-Related Technology/Computer Information Technology from DSCC in 2002. She furthered her education with a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Organizational Leadership from the University of Memphis in December 2024. Currently, she is the Community Relations Manager for the Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Newbern. Residing in Dyersburg, Ms. Clay is a proud parent of three adult children and eleven grandchildren.
Thanks to the generosity of guests, event donors, sponsors, and everyone behind the scenes who made the night possible, Dyersburg State raised approximately $10K for student scholarships. DSCC President Dr. Scott Cook commented on the event, saying, “Our annual Boots and Bow Ties was a tremendous success, raising $10,000 for student scholarships. We are deeply grateful to our generous sponsors, those who donated items for the auctions (who were individually recognized on social media), and everyone who joined us for an evening of live music, great food, and fun, all in support of our students and their futures.”
