UPDATE: 3:08 p.m. 11/5/25: Madison Academic Principal Chad Guthrie released the following statement regarding the situation:

Dear Madison Academic Families,

I want to begin by expressing my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to serve as your child’s principal. It is truly an honor to work with such dedicated students, families, and staff. I believe it is essential to keep our school community informed about important matters affecting Madison Academic High School.

While we initially refrained from sharing details until we could confirm the credibility of the information, we have closely monitored an investigation that involves one of our staff members. I now feel it is appropriate to inform our school community. Please know that the safety and well-being of our students are our highest priorities at Madison Academic Magnet High School.

While the staff member under investigation is suspended from all duties. The staff member will have no contact with students, parents, or school personnel during this process. We are fully cooperating with law enforcement and are committed to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. Because this remains an active legal matter, we are unable to share any additional information at this time.

I fully understand that this news may be concerning. If you or your child has questions and/or needs support, please do not hesitate to contact the Madison Academic office at 731-427-3502 or email me at cjguthrie@jmcss.org. Chad Guthrie, Principal
