‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ program officially kicks off with proclamation from Jackson mayor
JACKSON, Tenn. — A local program is prepping to bring holiday cheer and connection to older adults in the community.

Every holiday season, thousands of older adults spend the holidays alone. Many are living on a fixed income and others simply don’t have anyone to celebrate with.

That’s where ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ comes in. Now in its 20th year, this ‘Home Instead’ tradition helps spread joy and connection to older adults who could use a little extra cheer.

Wednesday, City of Jackson Mayor Scott Conger signed a proclamation at the ‘Home Instead’ office.
“Whereas the Home Instead office in Jackson, Tennessee is proud to announce the annual Be a Santa to a Senior campaign to bring joy in connection to those deserving individuals whereas the sacrifices made by our veterans honoring their service and commitment to our country,” said Mayor Conger.

Since launching the program, they have delivered more than 2.5 million gifts across North America. It’s all thanks to their amazing volunteers, local businesses, and community partners.
