Jackson State Community College announces grand opening of Veterans Center

JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson State Community College adds something new for veteran students.

JSCC hosted a ribbon-cutting event to celebrate the grand opening of its newly renovated Veterans Center.

The Veterans Center, located in the Student Center, will serve as a lounge area for veterans and military-connected students to study.

During the event they had Major General Warner Ross to speak about his time attending the school.

He also presented the TBR Chancellor’s Commendation for Military Veterans to Kevin Lynum, the Director of Athletics.

“Major General started his academic career here at Jackson State and so it was a nice touch to have him here to open this Veterans Center so that he could continue that legacy,” said Carol Rothstein, president of Jackson State Community College.

For more information about the center, contact JSCC at (731) 424-3520.
