Team of The Week Lexington Tigers

It’s Thursday so that means it’s time for your team of the
week and it will go to the Lexington big red Tigers. Last
Friday night in round 1 of the playoffs they defeated the Haywood Tomcats with
a final of 25 to 22. This was also a road game in which
they were down later in the contest but found a way to
overcome that. The tigers were able to be efficient running
the ball and capitalize off of turnovers they forced. For Lexington
going forward this will be the path they have to take if they want to
stay alive in the postseason.We caught up with head coach Derek Carr
and he spoke about how they got their round one win. Let’s hear it coach

“You know all year our guys have actually had multiple opportunities to respond to adversity throughout football games and

you know its a tough region we play in so we’ve played behind before and you know just attribute to our guys for coming out just continue to trust the process
trust one another its fun to watch them just continue to fight back trust one another have fun with it
and show some grit there down the stretch super proud.”

Lexington will be on the road again this Friday
as they have a date with Springfield.
Kick off is set for 7:00 pm.
