‘Rapsgiving’ event highlights local talent, gives back to the community

JACKSON, Tenn. — Hub City Hemp’s second annual Hip-Hop Rap Showcase took place Friday at Catbird Studio. 13 local artists performed for the evening.

Due to the recent extended government shutdown and issues with SNAP benefits, Hub City Hemp announced at the event that all Hub City Hemp locations will accept food donations.

These donations will go toward area nonprofits and organizations that give back to the community.

“A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to RIFA to help them restock their food banks,” said Larry B. Green, event organizer.

For food donations, Hub City Hemp has two locations: one in Jackson and one in Lexington.
