All-Northwest TN Honor Choir performs at FHU
HENDERSON, Tenn.—All-Northwest Tennessee Honor Choir kicks off at Freed-Hardeman University.
Over 300 auditioned student vocalists from across the West TN area middle and high schools converged to sing from a selected repertoire this weekend.
There are two choirs represented, a Junior High Choir and a Senior High Choir.
This occasion has been successful for over 50 years put on by vocal music directors of the West Tennessee Vocal Music Association each fall.
“The Senior High Choir is 240 singers comprised from students in grades 9-12. They are also here by competitive audition. They are being led by wonderful Chairperson Mr. Jared Heldenbrand, who is Director at the University School of Jackson. Then we have Ms. Tasha Moore who is the Director for Family Christian School,” said Reachel Hudgins, President of West TN Vocal Music Educators Association.
The performance takes place at the newly constructed Dryden Auditorium on the campus of Freed-Hardeman University.
