Jackson Toyota plant among several to receive major production upgrades

JACKSON, Tenn. — Manufacturing plants across the nation will be expanding very soon, including one here in West Tennessee.

Toyota plants across multiple states are going to see expansion very soon. One of which happens to be our very own here in Madison County. Scott Hasting, the plant manager, tells us more about the expansion.

“We’re announcing today a $71.4 million investment. This investment is to install 3 all new production lines for this facility. With this investment it will increase our capacity by nearly half a million units per year,” said Hasting.

Many of the vehicles Toyota produces starts right here in Madison County.

Hasting tells us exactly what they do.

“Production starts here. We produce, for North America, engine blocks and transaxle case and housing. This most recent expansion will be providing hybrid transaxle case and housing and engine blocks,” said Hasting.

Currently, this plant has 465 team members and 33 will be added with the new expansion. Hasting tells us what they will be doing.

“So it is across various different departments. We have production department, equipment maintenance department, dye maintenance department, we also have quality control facilities. All the departments throughout the facility create the components we build each and every day,” said Hasting.

This is a part of five different investments in five different states. It is producing a total of 252 new jobs. Production on the new lines will begin in 2027 and 2028, this brings the total investment for this plant to $497 million dollars.
