Henderson PD, Chester Co. Sheriff’s Office compete in ‘Shop with a Cop’ fundraiser
HENDERSON, Tenn. — It’s a battle to see who offers the best service, all to raise funds for an annual holiday event.

Officers with the Henderson Police Department went head-to-head with deputies of the Chester County Sheriff’s Office for a “Shop with a Cop” fundraiser.

Officers from both law enforcement agencies waited tables at Bishop’s Chow Wagon in downtown Henderson working to collect one-dollar tips.

Each dollar donation counted as one vote for each agency. The agency with the most tips wins the “Top Cop” trophy.

“I believe last year we were somewhere in the neighborhood of upwards of 42 to 47 different families that had some good Christmas provided for them,” said Deputy AJ Redman with the Chester County Sheriff’s Office.
“Yeah, it’s a lot of fun when you get to see all those kids open up all those presents on that day. Man, it makes it all worth it,” said Officer Michael Rhodes with the Henderson Police Department.
All of the funds raised go towards the Chester County ‘Shop with a Cop’. Area kids get to shop with an officer to pick out their Christmas gifts for themselves or their family.
That event is scheduled for Monday, December 8.
