Henderson County’s Christmas Open House weekend kicks off

LEXINGTON, Tenn. — The holiday shopping season is upon us, and many residents are already out securing those early Black Friday deals.

One community is certainly in the holiday spirit. On Main Street in Lexington, the holiday décor is already in full swing, but that’s not all. Residents are already out gearing up for the holiday season.

“The shops in Lexington get together and have an open house to kick off the Christmas shopping season, and so, everyone’s fully decorated, Christmas carols, and, you know, we pull out all the stops,” said David Small, owner of Davis Clothing – Davis Dry Goods.

Local businesses are rolling out special deals, extended hours, giveaways, and more.

Residents were out early Friday morning shopping for those pre-Black Friday deals — even the ones that typically shop late.

“You know my wife is a lot better at shopping before. I’m more of the one that shops right up against the line,” said Zachary Jeanes, owner of Alpha Lawncare Service.

Jeanes says he enjoys shopping local and pouring back into the community. He also loves the citywide sales.

“We actually started out this morning searching for stuff for our kids, you know, clothes and toys, different stores like that. That way we got a good game plan up for Black Friday,” Jeanes said.

On Black Friday at Davis Clothing, you can expect up to 40% off on Carhartt sweatshirts, and so much more.

There are also good deals happening for open house weekend.

“Ours is a storewide 10% off, excluding footwear and accessories, and on Sunday afternoon, we have an extra $10 off a $50 dollar coupon, and we’ll have a coffee truck here,” Small said.
