A new report from groundwork collaborative shows that Thanksgiving staples are more expensive this holiday season, leading many Americans to pull back on their festivities.
The report finds that: the price of Thanksgiving dinner is more expensive this year, with a full meal up 9.8% – more than triple the rate of inflation. Two-thirds of voters feel stressed about affording holiday expenses.
A majority of folks are taking action to brace for high prices this Thanksgiving, such as buying fewer items, hosting smaller gatherings, taking on debt to cover holiday-related expenses, or cutting back on Thanksgiving travel.
