Madison County Sheriff Julian Wiser announces bid for reelection

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Election campaigns are kicking off ahead of next year.

One restaurant here in the Hub City hosted the event, where a candidate is announcing a bid for re-election.

Latham’s Meat and BBQ is where Madison County Sheriff Julian Wiser announced he will be running for a second term.

Wiser, elected in 2022, was formerly the Chief of Police at the Jackson Police Department. In his first term as sheriff, he implemented a fully-functioning school resource officer division.

That effort put a deputy in every Jackson-Madison County School. Since his election, response times are down and team morale is reportedly high.

“I just wanna say I appreciate the amount of people that showed up tonight in support from Madison County. The weather’s bad and people made the journey out here tonight to show support and I’m very humbled by it and very grateful,” said Madison County Sheriff Julian Wiser.

In the four years of his term, Sheriff Wiser has had the Madison County Sheriff’s Office operating on a balanced budget.
