Local church, radio station team up to fundraise for area students in need
JACKSON, Tenn. — Talk-N West Tennessee partnered with the Jackson-Madison County School System to raise funds for students in need.

A radio-thon hit the airwaves across West Tennessee Friday afternoon as several choirs from schools across the district performed at the radio station.
Pastor Garry Martin led the event and praised the community for its outpouring of support. The money raised will go toward food and cold weather attire for students in need.
“Our Madison County School System has a large number of students in the area that don’t have a permanent residence. They’re living in hotels and motels, tents and cars, and with grandma and the neighbors,” said Garry Martin, senior pastor at Jackson First Assembly.

The goods are expected to be distributed before the students are released for winter break.
