Winners announced in ADU Design Contest
JACKSON, Tenn. — It’s time to award the winners of one creative design competition.
Friday, the City of Jackson announced the winners of the 2025 Accessory Dwelling Unit, or ADU Design Contest.
Architects, engineers, and designers from across the country created new housing units aimed at affordability and elder-friendliness.
Three designs were chosen plus an honorable mention.
“We really wanted to make sure that we could add in a new type of affordable housing that would be beneficial for those wanting to age in place, downsize, those who wanted to bring in some more income,” said Abby Palmer, Service Innovation Director for the City of Jackson.
Each of the winning designs will be turned into pre-approved plans for Jackson residents to build their own ADUs.
