MTD in Martin to expand production, create 200 jobs
WEAKLEY COUNTY, Tenn. — State officials and leaders with MTD announced Tuesday that the manufacturer will create 200 jobs as it expands production at its Martin facility.
The manufacturer will invest $10 million in the facility, according to a release from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.
MTD is Weakley County’s largest private employer and a leading global manufacturer and distributor of residential and commercial outdoor power equipment under brands such as Cub Cadet and Troy-Bilt, according to the release.
“We’ve operated here in Martin since 1985,” Steve Baker, MTD’s general manager for the facility, said in the release. “This is home for us and we’re blessed to be able to provide meaningful jobs for our community. We want to thank everyone who has helped, and will continue to help us, bring this expansion to fruition.”
