MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a Wednesday afternoon crash involving a motorcycle on U.S. Highway 412 east of Jackson.

The THP confirms the crash involving a pick-up truck  and motorcycle took place on Highway 412 East near Spain Road in east Madison County.

The passenger in the pick-up , who did not want to share his last name, told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News he and the driver were going east on Highway 412, attempting to turn left onto Spain Road, when the motorcycle hit them from the side. He says the bike then pushed them into a ditch, the truck rolling over on its side.

“He just came out of nowhere. He hit us from the side. He was passing all the other cars. it’s just crazy,” said the passenger in the pick-up who only wanted to be identified as Nick.

Investigators on the scene said the driver of the motorcycle was able to crawl out from underneath the truck.
He was then taken by ambulance to a local hospital with what investigators said were non life-threatening injuries.
Both the driver and passenger of the truck were not hurt.

Madison County Fire Marshal Don Friddle said wearing their seat belts could have been what saved their lives.
