Area cities and towns provide road condition updates

Many cities, towns, and police departments in West Tennessee have provided road condition updates.

ADAMSVILLE

Power has been restored at the redlight to includes the majority of East Main Street, the Wesley Apartments, and Oakhaven Village. A major thank you to the power companies out working hard in this weather.
Highway 64 is in very good shape thanks to the hard work of TDOT. It is mostly passable without any issues outside of some icy spots here and there. Highway 117 and Highway 22 are still pretty rough, as well as the back/side streets. Many of these streets are simply not safe to be operating a vehicle on and will not be until the temperatures get above freezing.
As always, if you have a loved one that needs to be checked on, please call and let us know so that we can check on them for you!

BROWNSVILLE

The Brownsville Police Department is currently patrolling the neighborhood to ensure the safety of our community.

Brownsville 2

Due to recent snowfall and icy conditions, the streets may be hazardous.

Brownsville 4

We kindly ask all citizens to exercise caution and travel only when necessary. Your safety is our priority, so please stay safe.

HARDEMAN COUNTY

This photo shows a TDOT truck that slid off the roadway due to extremely slick, icy conditions. Even experienced operators in heavy equipment are having difficulty maintaining traction.

This is a reminder that road conditions remain hazardous. Ice may not always be visible, but it is present and dangerous.

🚨 Please slow down, increase following distance, and avoid travel unless absolutely necessary. Your safety—and the safety of first responders …

HARDIN COUNTY

Hardin County Fire Department Chief Martin posted a video showing an update on the road conditions as of 11 a.m. on Monday. The footage shows downed trees and Martin warns of slick and dangerous county roads. He said there is “total devastation” with trees down on the roads. He said their priority was clearing the roadways and getting electricity restored.

HENRY COUNTY

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office morning road update. All roads remain covered in snow and ice. If you must get out please travel with caution and give yourself extra time. Crews are out working to clear the roads but with below freezing temperatures everything will just continue to freeze back.
