Old Country Store offers $9.99 buffet on Thursday only after snow and ice shutdown
Jackson, Tenn. – After several days of being snowed in, iced over, and forced to stay home, Brooks Shaw has come to an official conclusion: cabin fever is real… and it can make you do some wild things.
In what management is calling a “questionable but generous decision,” Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store is rolling out a one-day buffet special on Thursday, January 29th, 2026, appropriately titled:
“Brooks Shaw Has Officially Lost His Mind” Special
For one day only, the full lunch and dinner buffet — normally $17.99 — will be just $9.99, nearly 50% off the regular price.
The buffet will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will feature the full Thursday menu, just as Guests would expect on any normal day — only at a price that probably should have required a cooler head and a calculator.
The $9.99 price does not include tax or tip, and Guests are encouraged to use the savings to bless their servers who are back at work delivering great Southern hospitality after the storm.
“After being stuck at home and staring at the weather forecast for days, I clearly wasn’t thinking straight,” Shaw said. “But if losing my mind means helping folks get back out of the house and enjoy a hot meal together, I’m okay with that.”
Extended Thank-You Discounts Through the Weekend
In addition to Thursday’s special, the Old Country Store is extending 20% off the buffet from Friday through Sunday (January 30th – February 1st) for:
- City of Jackson employees
- TDOT (Tennessee Department of Transportation) team members
- Jackson Energy Authority team members
These discounts are offered as a thank-you to the crews who worked long hours to restore power, clear roads, and help keep the community moving during and after the storm.
“We’re grateful for the folks who showed up in tough conditions to take care of Jackson,” Shaw added. “This is a small way to say thank you — and to make sure you get a hot, comforting meal while you’re at it.”
Guests are encouraged to arrive early, bring their appetite, and enjoy a little post-storm comfort food — while it lasts.
