Warming center opens in Adamsville

ADAMSVILLE, Tenn. — A warming shelter has opened in Adamsville to help those without adequate heat.

There is a warming center at the Marty Community Center in Adamsville located at 304 Blanton St.

There are a limited number of cots available, so they are asking if you have any resources you can bring to help with sleeping arrangements to please do that.

“If you can’t make it here, you can’t get here, you don’t have anybody to bring you–we will come pick you up. Just call us [and] let us know. Adamsville city limits, we’ll even go outside the city limits if we have to to bring somebody here. We want to make sure everybody’s safe and warm, it’s going to be really cold this weekend so our priority is taking care of the people,” said Chief Nathan Reagan, Adamsville police chief.

Their central dispatch number is 731-645-7906. If you live out in McNairy County you can also call that number and they will send help.
