Samaritan’s Purse organization in McNairy, Hardin counties offering disaster relief efforts for winter storm victims
MCNAIRY COUNTY, Tenn.–A global disaster relief organization is helping families across southwest Tennessee.
Samaritan’s Purse has been all over the county and their efforts can been seen all over the community.
Samaritan’s Purse has been taking requests from communities impacted by the most recent storms.
People are able to call in to request teams to come out to assess damage and get crews to do what they can to manage it.
Program manager, Josh Hannah with Samaritan’s Purse emphasized what the organization’s main focus is right now.
“So our main focus right now is McNairy and Hardin County in Tennessee, and were also in Tishomingo, Prentiss, Alcorn, and Tippah in Mississippi. So we’re trying to hit these six counties, we know there was a lot of damage throughout so that’s our main goal,” said Hannah.
As a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization, Samaritan’s Purse specializes in meeting critical needs for victims and often working through local churches and ministry partners like Love and Truth Church.
Kennan Williams who attends Love and Truth Church told us what this visit meant for her and her home.
“Just there was a number on Facebook I called and (Samaritan’s Purse) is a wonderful organization, it’s unbelievable what they do. I mean, I know some of these people from Love and Truth Church. Yeah I recognize Jennifer, there was another girl here, Michelle was here Saturday, and I know Scott and it’s just amazing that they go round and help like this,” said Williams.
for volunteers interested in participating in their mission, they can show up at Love and Truth Church in Adamsville from 7:30 in the morning to midday to get orientation then a local assignment.
Leaders with the Samaritan’s Purse say they’ll stay until the work is complete.
