Bill Luther

January 4, 1945 – January 29, 2026

Bill was a longtime pastor in the United Pentecostal Church, most known for his associations with Love and Truth Church and the former Bemis Pentecostal Church.

Pastor Luther accepted a call to ministry on January 26th, 1969. It was during this time that they served as ministers at Bemis Pentecostal Church in Jackson, TN. They also went on to Pastor at First United Pentecostal Church in Hohenwald, TN, Bethel United Pentecostal Church in Memphis, TN and returned as Senior Pastors to Bemis Pentecostal Church in Jackson, TN. In 1996, they joined Love and Truth Church in Adamsville, TN as associate pastors and would later move to pastor at Love and Truth Church in Henderson, TN before coming back to join the ministry team at Love and Truth Church in Jackson, TN. Bill, and his beloved wife, Mrs. Ann, were greeters and hosts for George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home for many years. Bill and Ann also served on the board for Madison County Blue Strong, a cause that they were both very passionate about.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Ann Brinkley Luther; and parents, Garvin Lee and Myrtice Evelyn Richards Luther.

Bill is survived by two sons, David Luther of Greenville, South Carolina and Cary Luther of Jackson, Tennessee. His grandchildren Brittany Wright, Alexandria and William Luther, Savannah Nevels, Colton, Caroline and Jax Luther, as well as his great-grandchildren Braelyn, Easton, and Max Wright and Beckham Nevels.

A service to celebrate the life of Bro. Bill Luther will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Love and Truth Church, 565 Oil Well Rd., Jackson, with burial following in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m., two hours prior to the service at Love and Truth.
