JACKSON Tenn- Wednesday evening we brought you a story on two middle school basketball teams in
the Northeast Jaguars and the Jackson Career Technology lady bulldogs
seasons coming to an end due to inclement weather and
hazardous conditions. They express to us their frustrations over the fact their
kids weren’t afforded the opportunity to finish out the remainder of
the regular season or district play. Earlier today we spoke with

“You know about the Jackson Madison County School System Academics,Athletics and the Arts their all important to us and they’ve all been impacted by the

the district attempt to get the TSSAA to extend the district tournament or extend the
region tournament was not successful and so we just want the community to know that

TSSAA controls the postseason schedule Jackson Madison County does not control that.”
We also asked Mr Hammond about how parents had questions on how other middle school teams outside of Jackson Career Technology, and Northeast are able to still compete
even as early as this weekend.
even as early as this weekend.
“You take a team like North Parkway who actually received a bye so there games they didn’t have to play weather its some middle school or some high schools are going to play on Saturday those are not school days those are days that weren’t cancelled or closed due to weather and so for other teams it’s just the way it fail on the schedule. We;ve made request to the TSSAA to extend weather it be the district tournament or region tournament that’s not possible
their not allowing that to happen because the middle school state tournament is next week and so
the community deserves to know the situation and the situation is the state of Tennessee has been impacted by a winter storm.”
