MADISON COUNTY, Tenn.–Leaders with the Madison County Conservation Board held a meeting Tuesday evening.

At the meeting, held at the Madison County Parks and Recreation office in west Madison County, the board discussed several items on their agenda including winter storm damage at Fred Young Park and at the Beech Bluff Center. Leaders also gave an update to the ongoing construction at the new Talley Park.

“We were looking at doing our gravel for our parking lot, finished up our pavilion, which has been contracted out and finalizing the safety surfacing of the playground. Of course with all of the snow out there, you just can’t do anything. So we’re probably looking at it being delayed. We’re still looking at an April grand opening, but it might be a little tighter than we thought before,” said Matthew Martin, executive director  for the Madison County Parks and Recreation Department.

Also discussed was the fact that more than $10,000 was raised from both charity contributions and sponsorships during the “Festival of Lights” that was held during the Christmas season at Pugh Bourne Park.
