Crockett County man sentenced to 16 years for burglary, assault, theft

PRESS RELEASE FROM DISTRICT ATTORNEY GENERAL FREDERICK H. AGEE:

CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — On February 2, 2026, in the Circuit Court of Crockett County, Patrick Burleson, age 41, pled guilty to Burglary. He was sentenced to serve 8 years in the Tennessee Department of Correction. He also pled to Aggravated Assault and Theft over $2,500 and received a consecutive sentence of 8 years of State Supervision, after his release from prison. This is an effective 16-year sentence. He is required to complete Moral Reconation Therapy, alcohol and drug counseling, and vocational training while incarcerated.

On November 10, 2023, Burleson broke into a boat shed in Crockett County and stole items which were later located in a vehicle outside his residence.

On March 11, 2023, Burleson stole a truck from a farm in Crockett County, which was later recovered.

On December 6, 2024, Burleson used a bat to assault his cousin at a residence in Bells.

“Burleson continued to steal from hardworking citizens of Crockett County to support his drug addiction and also assaulted a family member. He must now face the legal consequences of his actions, and our Office hopes the recidivism reduction measures he receives in prison will give him the tools he needs to work and stay clean once released. If not, he will return to the Department of Correction. We thank the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office and Bells Police Department for their hard work in these cases.”
