Kimmy Spann announces candidacy for Henderson County Constable
PRESS RELEASE FROM KIMMY SPANN:
HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Kimmy Spann has announced his candidacy for Henderson County Constable.

It is with a profound sense of purpose and an unwavering commitment to our community that I, Kimmy T. Spann, formally announce my candidacy for the position of Henderson County Constable for District 4. Having proudly called Lexington home for two decades, and District 4 for the majority of that time, my roots here run deep. My wife, Angela, and I, alongside our son Chandler, affectionately known as “Coach C,” have been active participants in shaping the positive trajectory of our county. We carry the memory of our beloved son, Tyler “T. Spann,” who tragically passed in 2018, as a constant reminder of the preciousness of life and the imperative to serve.
Our family’s journey has been inextricably linked with the welfare of Henderson County. We channeled our grief into meaningful action by establishing The Tyler Spann Water Safety Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the health and safety of our community. Through this initiative, we have not only provided essential resources, such as distributing 24-pack Crayola Crayons to every elementary school-aged child in Henderson County in one memorable year, and continuing this tradition at Lexington City Schools’ annual back-to-school events, but we also ensure access to vital safety equipment by supplying life jackets for the Loaner Station at Beech Lake. These efforts are not merely charitable acts; they are a testament to our family’s enduring commitment to public well-being and a foundational belief in giving back.
My decision to seek this office is driven by a clear recognition of a critical need within District 4: the requirement for consistent, dedicated, and stable leadership in the Constable’s position. Over the past eight years, the unsettling lack of continuity, with two preceding officeholders unable to fulfill their complete four-year terms, has underscored a void that must be filled. The citizens of District 4 deserve a Constable who embodies readiness, capability, and an unshakeable resolve to serve the entirety of their mandate. If elected, I pledge an unwavering commitment to this vital role, ensuring a steady hand and a reliable presence for our community.
My qualifications are not merely a list of achievements but a testament to a career steeped in public service and law enforcement. Academically grounded with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, my practical experience spans a diverse and comprehensive range of roles. From serving as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Tennessee State Guard, which instilled rigorous discipline and leadership, to my tenure as a City Police Officer and a vigilant Sheriff Deputy, I have gained extensive street-level experience in community safety and law enforcement operations. My specialized roles as a K-9 Officer and an impactful Drug Task Agent further honed my investigative skills, tactical proficiency, and ability to address complex challenges effectively. My experience in various State Law Enforcement capacities has further cultivated my ability to collaborate across agencies, lead initiatives, and execute duties with integrity and precision. These roles have collectively instilled in me the discipline, strategic thinking, and community-centric approach essential for a Constable.
I am confident that with your trust and support, I can significantly broaden my contributions to the people of Henderson County. While our non-profit has addressed crucial community needs, assuming the role of Constable would allow me to apply my extensive law enforcement expertise directly to upholding public safety, fostering a secure environment, and serving as a consistent, transparent, and accessible resource for all residents of District 4. I am prepared to bring unwavering dedication and a proactive approach to ensure that the Constable’s office serves our community with the highest standards of integrity and effectiveness.
I respectfully request your thoughtful consideration, your endorsement, and your invaluable vote in the upcoming election. Together, we can ensure District 4 has the dedicated, experienced, and steadfast Constable it truly deserves.
Sincerely,
Kimmy T. Spann
