Martin Short’s daughter Katherine dies at 42, reports say

(Gray News) – Martin Short’s daughter Katherine Short has died at age 42.

In a statement shared with People, the family said they are “devastated.”

“It is with profound grief that we confirm the passing of Katherine Hartley Short. The Short family is devastated by this loss and asks for privacy at this time. Katherine was beloved by all and will be remembered for the light and joy she brought into the world,” the statement said.

Katherine Short, who worked as a social worker, was adopted by Martin Short and his late wife, Nancy Dolman. Dolman died in 2010 of ovarian cancer.

According to People, the Los Angeles coroner confirmed that Katherine Short died by suicide.
