Officials sworn in Friday at Madison County Criminal Justice Complex

JACKSON, Tenn. — Returning county officials are sworn in at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex, Friday morning.

Madison County Circuit Court Clerk Kathy Blount and 26th Judicial District Attorney General Jody Pickens were sworn into office, in downtown Jackson.

Deputy Circuit Court Clerks and Assistant District Attorneys were also sworn in by Judge Roy Morgan in the ceremony.

“I have enjoyed serving the community. I have enjoyed giving service to everyone, and I really enjoy my job, I really do,” Blount said.

Blount has worked for Madison County for more than 30 years.

District Attorney Jody Pickens, who was appointed to office after former District Attorney Jerry Woodall retired in 2017, was also sworn in Friday.

“Standing in front of your peers, in front of your judges you practice in front of and your family, it impresses on you the importance of what you do and what it means to the community,” Pickens said.
