Collision turns fatal at LaGuardia Airport in New York

EAST ELMHURST, N.Y. — According to reports, an Air Canada Express plane collided with a fire truck late Sunday night on a runway at the airport.

Law enforcement officials say the pilot and co-pilot were killed in the crash. Several passengers were injured.

Authorities say 41 passengers and crew members were taken to the hospital. Of those, 32 have been released.

Data shows the plane was traveling about 130 miles per hour just before it hit the truck. The National Transportation Safety Board is launching an investigation.
