Eric Beasley Foundation, sorority partner for voter registration effort
JACKSON, Tenn. — With it being an election year, two local groups spent this week working to get more people registered to vote.

The Eric Beasley Foundation and Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority partnered with the Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Jackson for voter registration drives, offering students and staff a chance to register or update their information.
Organizers say efforts like this are aimed at boosting turnout ahead of upcoming elections.
Patricia Beasley, who is the president of the Eric Beasley Foundation, explains why voting is important.
“Watch what’s going on in your country, it’s going to affect you and your children,” Beasley said.
The Eric Beasley Foundation and Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority will host another voter registration drive on Thursday from 10 in the morning to noon at the T-CAT location in Whiteville located at 16-85 U-S Highway 64.
