Jackson State Community College breaks ground on new athletic complex
JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson State Community College broke ground on a new athletic complex Wednesday.

It’s aimed at improving the game-day experience and expanding Green Jay sports. School leaders say the project will bring upgrades for fans, including new restrooms and concessions, along with new fields for baseball and a home for the school’s new flag football team.

Jackson State President Dr. Carol Rothstein and Athletic Director Dr. Kevin Lynum join coaches, student-athletes, and community leaders for the ceremony.

“For them to express their just, gratitude for what the institution is doing, in erecting this new baseball field, really showed me the care and compassion for Jackson state athletics and for the baseball program,” Lynum said.
The ceremony includes limited-edition Coca-Cola giveaways, plus peanuts and cracker jacks for attendees.
