Jewel Bell, age 84, born on May 25, 1941, in Tiptonville, TN, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, at Haywood Post Acute in Brownsville, TN. Her dedication, warmth, and commitment to her family left a lasting impression on them all.  The family chose cremation and there are no services scheduled at this time but will be announced by the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home as they become available.

Before retiring, Jewel devoted many years as a bill collector for C & F Systems, where she was known for her diligence and professionalism. Beyond her career, she cherished time with her loved ones, often bringing joy through her cooking, especially for the holidays. Jewel’s love of family was evident in every gathering.

Jewel loved to bowl and enjoyed a good cookout, both of which reflected her enjoyment for life and the simple pleasures that brought happiness. These hobbies allowed her to connect with friends and family in meaningful ways.

She is survived by her daughters Phyllis Killen (Mark) of Brownsville, TN, Margaret Pittman of Memphis, TN, Staci Lax of Winter Haven, FL, and Tammy Pittman of Cleveland, TN, as well as her son Tracy Pittman of Florida. She is also survived by her brother John Willis and her sisters Cecile Gillmore and Mary Louise Pennington.  She leaves a legacy of eleven grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Jewel was preceded in death by her beloved parents, James Thomas and Mildred Marie Simmons Willis, her son Carry Pittman, son-in-law Bubba Lax, her sisters JoAn Roach and Linda Mobley. and two grandchildren, Dustin Pittman and Aaron Lax.

Jewel will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.  All arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
