Rain Showers Coming Friday, Frost Possible Saturday morning
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
It looks like we hit 86° earlier at the airport in Jackson tying another high temperature record this month. This could be the warmest March on record, but a top 3 seems almost a lock at this time. We have only been below average 3 days this month and typically have been about 10° warmer than normal on the high and low. The next front is coming in on Friday evening and will bring a round of rain showers that will move through in the afternoon. A few rumbles of thunder cannot be ruled out but severe weather isn’t coming our way this time. Behind the front, we will fall down to the mid 30s for many of us Saturday morning and a frost will be possible. The cooldown will be short lived as 80s are coming back by next Monday. Catch the latest forecast details coming up here.

THIS WEEK:
It looks like we tied another high temperature record on Thursday. The record was 86° in 2020 at the airport in Jackson. We saw another mostly sunny day and it was a little humid for this time of the year as well. Thursday night lows will fall down to around 60° and the winds will kick up some late in the day as the next front gets a little closer. Rain will hold on tonight and Saturday morning but will look to come back in the middle of the day on Friday.

The next front in the forecast is going to pass late in the day on Friday. As the front approaches, some showers or weak storms appear possible but severe weather seems unlikely at this time for West Tennessee. Some of the forecast data has the rain missing up completely from the front, but that also seems unlikely that we won’t see some showers Friday afternoon and evening. Chances are 60° right now in our area. Friday highs will only reach the low to mid 70s as clouds will be sticking around most of the day and the showers could show up before we can reach the 80s. Friday night lows will fall down into the mid to upper 30s, possibly cold enough for a frost if the skies can clear out by Saturday morning. The rain should be gone by sunrise Saturday as well.

THIS WEEKEND:
We are looking at a much cooler weekend across the Mid South than the previous weekend but it still looks like it is going to be quite nice. Highs on Saturday will reach the low 60s after starting out the morning in the 30s. Expect a sunny day for the most part on Saturday with the low humidity due to the northeast breeze moving in behind Friday’s front. Saturday night will be a little cool with lows falling down to around 40° on Sunday morning. The winds will try to change back to the southeast during the day on Sunday and that will bring temperatures back into the low to mid 70s by Sunday afternoon. A few more clouds will move in on Sunday but we should still see a mostly sunny day. Sunday night lows will drop down to the low 50s to kick off next week. The weekend looks like it is going to be dry for everyone in our viewing area as of now.

NEXT WEEK:
The heat will be coming back next week with highs up near 80° again on Monday. The week will start out with plenty of sunshine but clouds and rain chances will be returning in the middle of the week as well. The winds will come out of the south most of the week keeping temperatures above normal as we finish March and kick off April. There could be some storms coming in on Wednesday and severe weather will be possible at this time. Some of the rain could linger into Thursday as well. We really need the rain, so that is good but hopefully we can avoid any big storms that might come with it. We should be in the mid 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday before cooling back down to the low 70s on Thursday under the cloudy skies.
