Henderson County voters, candidates meet in ‘Candidates Forum’
LEXINGTON, Tenn.– A local town invites the community in to meet and mingle with candidates in the upcoming primary election and hear where they stand on some of the major issues.
A Candidates Forum was held Wednesday evening at Lexington High School in Lexington where candidates running for various positions in
Henderson County were given an opportunity to address the audience.
On the ballot for the upcoming May Primary Election are candidates for county Mayor, Sheriff, county Commissioners and School Board members.
Organizers say this event helps voters make their choices before going to the ballot box.
“This is just a forum for the candidates to introduce themselves. We got some general questions to ask them. It’s just a change for the people to be able to look at them all at one time and help make up their mind. We’ve had nothing but positive feed back,” said Don Enochs, the event’s moderator.
Organizers tell us this is the third Candidates Forum they’ve held and this one had the best turnout of voters attending.
The Primary Election in Henderson County is May 5.
