Haywood County Fire Department battles overnight mobile home fire
PRESS RELEASE FROM HAYWOOD COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT:
HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn. — The Haywood County Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire involving a mobile home located at 12300 Highway 19 in Haywood County, Tennessee.
On April 1, at approximately 23:28 hrs., Central Dispatch received a report of a fully involved mobile home fire. Fire units were dispatched immediately and began responding at 23:30 hrs.
Upon arrival at approximately 23:58 hrs., firefighters observed that the rear addition of the mobile home was actively burning. The main portion of the structure was not fully involved.
Fire crews initiated an aggressive interior and exterior fire attack, successfully containing the fire to the rear addition and one end of the structure, preventing further extension throughout the residence.
A primary search was conducted, confirming the structure was vacant at the time of the incident. The fire was brought under control at approximately 00:28 hours (12:28 AM).
Approximately 20 firefighters responded to the scene. Assisting agencies included:

- Ripley Fire Department
- Haywood County Fire Department (Districts 9, 11, and 12)
- Haywood County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Haywood County Sheriff’s Department
- Haywood EMS
- Brownsville Utility Department
- Southwest Utility District
- Brownsville Fire Department
No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. It should be noted that the Haywood County Sheriff’s Department has responded to this location within the past week regarding trespassing concerns.
