Milan’s 9th Annual Easter Celebration
MILAN Tenn. — With Easter weekend kicking off, an annual occasion in Milan has local youth out and about to see who can find the most eggs at this year’s Easter celebration. An Easter egg hunt is like hide and seek, and who would turn down a childhood classic?
The 9th Annual Easter tradition returns to Milan with plenty of fun for the entire family including a petting zoo, bouncy houses, balloon animals, and many options for food plus the chance to win prizes. The egg hunt is only for ages 10 and under, but anyone is welcome to join in the fun with an opportunity for open play.
“This is the 9th year we’ve done it, and it seems to get bigger and bigger every year. More and more kids come out. We started out at about 5,000 eggs, but now we’re up to 15,000 eggs now,” said Mayor B.W. Beasley, City of Milan.
Kids are hopping and hunting to see who can find the golden egg.
“It is our first Easter egg hunt and it’s awesome to be out here especially with the great community that we have here in Milan,” said Blake Loflin, an Easter Celebration guest.
“The best part of the job is to get to see these kids come out for Easter egg hunts, or when I get to read to them at a library. The kids make it,” said Beasley.
It’s bigger that just the hunt. It’s about memories and making a difference.
“What makes Milan special is the people that step up, and help our and make Milan what it is today,” said Mayor Beasley.
Many families are not making this celebration their last stop. This is just one out of many events kicking off this weekend in West Tennessee for the holiday.
“I think we’re going to another Easter egg hunt in Humboldt then family time on Sunday,” said Meghan Loflin, another Easter Celebration guest.
