Lane College expands career pathways through campus wide career fair

JACKSON, Tenn. — Lane College continues its commitment to preparing students for life beyond the classroom by creating intentional opportunities that connect academic learning with real world career pathways.

Through its recent campus wide career fair, the college welcomed more than seventy employers, providing students with direct access to industry professionals, career exploration, and meaningful networking experiences.

The event brought together a diverse range of organizations and companies, allowing students across disciplines to engage in conversations about internships, career opportunities, and professional development.

From first year students to graduating seniors, attendees gained insight into various industries while building connections that will support their future success.

“At Lane College, we are intentional about creating opportunities that connect our students directly with employers and real-world career pathways,” said James Moore, Director of the Career Pathway Initiative. “Hosting more than seventy employers on our campus is a testament to the value of our students and the strength of our partnerships. This event is not just about networking, it is about opening doors, building confidence, and positioning our students for long term success.”

Senior Marketing major, Lemanuel O. Turnipseed, reflected on the impact of the experience, sharing, “Being a senior about to graduate in less than a month, opportunities like this help me take the next step toward my career. This event allows me to explore different paths, connect with companies, and consider multiple options to make informed decisions about where I want to go next.”

Students engaged with employers through conversations that highlighted career readiness, professional expectations, and the importance of networking.
