Chick-Fil-A employee finds nearly $10,000 in restaurant bathroom, police say
KINSTON, N.C. (WITN/Gray News) – A Chick-fil-A employee reluctantly accepted a cash reward after finding nearly $10,000 near a toilet while at work.

The cash was found in the men’s restroom at the Chick-fil-A on U.S. 70 around 10:40 a.m. on Good Friday.
Jaydon Cintron says he was taking his usual break when he found two white envelopes.
“They were on the floor next to the toilet. My first thought was just like… okay, no, this isn’t happening,” Cintron said. “Something is wrong.”
One was labeled First Citizens Bank and contained $5,000, and another was labeled Truist Bank and contained $4,333.
Initially, the restaurant attempted to review the security video to identify who the money belonged to. But the owner came forward Monday morning to accept the cash.
The owner approached Cintron, offering him a $500 reward for his good deed, but he declined taking the money because he didn’t expect a reward for what his faith told him was right.
After declining the reward multiple times, the teenager finally accepted it.
”True leadership, you know, true integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching,“ said restaurant owner John McPhaul. ”Jaydon did that in this case and he should be commended for it.”
