Brenda Marlar, age 76, passed away peacefully at her home on March 29, 2026. Born on March 12, 1950, in Memphis, TN, Brenda lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and a love for those around her.  Visitation for the Marlar family will be Friday, April 10, 2026, from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.  Memorial Services and Inurnment will be held at 1:30 PM at the Brownsville Memorial Gardens with Bro. Jim Koonce officiating.

Brenda worked over twenty years as the bookkeeper for Williams Supply in Brownsville, TN, where she was known for her meticulous work. Later in life, she followed her dream of becoming a masseuse, offering care and relief to many. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Brenda deeply loved her time spent with family and friends, often expressing her love through the kitchen and the gatherings she either hosted or attended, which brought her great joy.

A faithful member of Allen Baptist Church, Brenda enjoyed being a member of the choir. She especially enjoyed participating in the cantatas during special occasions. Brenda found great happiness spending time with her dogs and various animals, a testament to her gentle and loving nature.

Brenda is survived by her son, Warren Marlar of Brownsville, TN; her brother, Robert “Bob” Alexander and his wife Cindy; her nephews, Matt Alexander and Marcus Clark; her grandniece, Jenny Alexander and grandnephews, J.R. Alexander and Jason Clark. She is preceded in death by her parents, Warren G. and Carolyn Elizabeth Cozart Alexander.

Brenda will be deeply missed by all who knew her, remembered for her generous heart, her joyous spirit, and the many ways she touched the lives of those around her. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort her family and friends in the years to come.  The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1640, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.  All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
