Henderson County candidates meet voters at public forum

PARKERS CROSSROADS, Tenn. — Henderson County voters attended a public forum at Parkers Crossroads City Park to hear from candidates running in the May primary election.

Candidates for county mayor, sheriff, commissioners and school board members are on the ballot for the May 5 primary election.

“Tonight our main goal is to just to better be informed about the candidates that are running in our county. At this time I would like to get it on the record that as president of this club we don’t endorse any of these candidates,” said Wes Walker, president of Henderson County Ruritan Club.

Walker said voters are looking for specific qualities in candidates.

“I think we’re just looking for fairness across the board 100%, and some transparency,” Walker said.

The forum format allowed voters to hear from multiple candidates.

“All the candidates will stand up and we’ll just shoot them some question back and forth but that’s not going to be till the very end because this thing could go all night if every candidate here had ample time,” Walker said.

The primary election in Henderson County is May 5.
