Sex offender to be castrated following guilty plea

BOSSIER PARISH, La. (KSLA/Gray News) – A Louisiana man will be castrated as part of his sentence for aggravated crimes against nature.

The Bossier-Webster Parish District Attorney’s office said Monday that Zachary Dewayne Doolittle, 40, pleaded guilty to aggravated crimes against nature.

Doolittle was sentenced to 45 years in prison.

According to the district attorney’s office, Doolittle performed sexual acts of a family member under the age of 13.

The district attorney’s office said in addition to his prison term, Doolittle will be castrated, as required by Louisiana law.

“My office is committed to prosecuting the predators that victimize children and will work hand-in-hand with our partners in law enforcement to protect children,” Bossier-Webster District Attorney Schuyler Marvin said. “The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office should be commended for their outstanding work in this case. They delivered us a solid investigation, and we were able to remove another sexual predator from our community.”
