Mr. Sam Freeman
Mr. Samuel O’Neill Freeman, 76, of Willis, Texas, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Sam was born April 12, 1950, in Union City, Tennessee, to the late Ann (Sanders) Wiley. He dedicated his career to construction equipment sales, a profession that suited his hardworking nature and allowed him to build lasting relationships with those he served. He took great pride in his work and in the life he built through it.

Above all, Sam was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He is survived by two daughters, Tammy Gatewood and husband Alan of St. Augustine, Florida, and Candi McCloud and husband Travis of Union City, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Cassidy Gatewood, Brayden McCloud, and Evan McCloud; one great-granddaughter, Addison Gatewood; one sister, Debbie Miller of Union City, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. He also had long time companion Carol Martin and granddaughter Nicole Dufner.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Mikey Freeman, Dickie Freeman, and Tony Freeman.

In keeping with his wishes, no formal services will be held, and his family will honor his memory in their own way.

His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched, the friendships he built, and the family who loved him dearly.
